Welcome to Professor Bev Skeggs’s archive.
Beverley (Bev) Skeggs is a sociologist, a feminist, and a campaigner against inequalities.

Beginning with the study of identity by working-class women Bev has always maintained an interest in formations and practices of care. Her exploration of inequality — as it is shaped and lived — has involved analysis of space, sexuality, violence, representations, TV, social media, affect and economics. Her research interrogates the relationship between value (economic) and values (moral, cultural) across these sites. She has also been involved in different forms of activism. She is an Emeritus Professor at Lancaster University which means she can concentrate on what she wants to do.
